The sea freezes here. It's astounding to me.this poor trolley is frozen in the harbour for the whole winter. I suppose it'll sink when the summer comes.the edge of the sea where it's water...I took a ferry ride to an old naval base from Helsinki (Suomenlinna) and this is the route the ferry takes back and forth all day - through the ice sheet.
While I was in Helsinki, the weather changed - it reached zero, and slightly above - and there was rain instead of snow. It's quite terrible when rain falls on snow - VERY wet. Then when it freezes again, it becomes treacherous sheets of ice.
